25th Season Coach Jandrey began his volleyball coaching career at Mediapolis in 1987. In 24 seasons, Jandrey has amassed a 66 4 - 185 - 49 record. He's led the Bullettes to twelve conference championships, thirteen district championships, ten regional final appearances, and four state tournament births.Jandrey has been named conference coach of the year nine times and HawkEye coach of the year four times (1992, 2002, 2009, 2010). In 2008 and 2010 he was named Class 2A District coach of the year and in 1999 Jandrey was selected to coach the Iowa Girls' Coaches Association All-Star volleyball match in Carroll, Iowa. Jandrey, a USA Volleyball CAP Level I coach, served on the selection committee for the IGCA Volleyball All-Star match from 1994-2003. In 1997, he served as the chairman of the Iowa Class 2A all-state selection committee. In 1999, he was selected to the newly formed class 2A all-district team committee. An alumnus of Northwest Missouri State University, Jandrey is one of the founders of the Southeast Iowa Volleyball Classic, a founder and former director of the Great River Juniors Volleyball Club in southeast Iowa, and is a camp clinician. Prior to coming to Mediapolis, Jandrey was an assistant volleyball coach at Malvern (Iowa) for five seasons. Mr. Jandrey is the Technology Coordinator for Mediapolis Community Schools. Among other things, he is responsible for the school's computer hardware, software, networking, and operating systems. Coach Jandrey and his wife Angie make their home in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. They have three daughters; Jill (Orlando, FL), Jayme (Johnston, IA), and Ashlei (St. Louis, MO). ERIN STEFFENER Coach Steffener is in her seventh season on the high school coaching staff. A graduate of Mediapolis High School, Steffener was a middle hitter for the Bullettes and earned all-conference and all-state honors. She continued her volleyball career at Southeastern Community College and St. Louis Meremac. Steffener has been a camp clinician at the Tri-State Volleyball Camp and she coaches for the Bullette Volleyball Club.Coach Steffener is the Elementary Secretary for Mediapolis Community Schools. She and her husband Darren and daughter Ella reside in Mediapolis. STEVE
RHEINSCHMIDT Coach Rheinschmidt began coaching volleyball at Mediapolis in 1995 and has spent 16 seasons coaching at the high school. In 2001, he coached the Bullette eighth grade team. He also coaches for the Bullette Volleyball Club. Rheinschmidt has a variety of volleyball coaching and administrative experience. In the summer of 2001, he was the Head of Delegation and assistant coach for the Iowa High Performance Volleyball Team. This 16 and under elite team participated in the Colorado Springs Cup, an international style tournament in Colorado Springs, Colorado. From 1999-2001, Rheinschmidt coached for the Great River Juniors Volleyball Club. He coached the club's 18 and under team in 2001, and GRJ's 14 and under team in 1999 and 2000. In 2000, he was named USA Volleyball's Iowa Region Male Junior Coach of the Year and in 2010 he received the USAV Iowa Region Meritorious Service Award. In 2003, Rheinschmidt was a court coach for USA Volleyball's Youth National Team try-outs in Minneapolis, Minnesota and the lead evaluator for the Iowa High Performance try-outs in Des Moines and Cedar Rapids. Rheinschmidt is a USA Volleyball CAP Level I coach and a USA Volleyball IMPACT clinician. While in graduate school at Western Illinois University, Rheinschmidt completed an internship with USA Volleyball in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was the coordinator of the Southeast Iowa Volleyball Classic from 1993-2002. Mr. Rheinschmidt is the Director of the Iowa Community College Online Consortium and is based at Southeastern Community College in West Burlington. Rheinschmidt is a graduate of Central College, Pella, Iowa. He makes his home in West Burlington, Iowa. MARISSA DIDERIKSEN Coach Dideriksen enters her first year as a volunteer assistant coach. She is a 2006 graduate of Mediapolis High School and was a member of the 2005 state qualifying volleyball team.Dideriksen has coached for the Bullette Volleyball Club and Cedar Falls Community Schools. This fall she is student teaching for the Burlington Community School District and will complete her Education degree at the University of Northern Iowa. JEFFERY
SCHULZ Coach Schulz, a volunteer assistant, was born in Burlington, Iowa and attended Mediapolis from Kindergarten through 5th Grade when his family moved to Racine, Wisconsin. He started playing competitive volleyball his freshman year at Racine Horlick High School. During his junior year in 1990, Schulz’s Horlick team won the Wisconsin State Tournament. In the summer of 1991, his club team, Great Lakes Volleyball Club, finished runner-up in the boy’s 18 and under division at the AAU National Tournament. During his senior year, Schulz was a tri-captain and finished second-team all county. In 1992, Coach Schulz began attending Miami University (Ohio) and joined the Miami men’s volleyball team. During his time there his team won several tournaments including Michigan State, Ohio Wesleyan and Kentucky’s North-South Tournament. Schulz capped off his college career by helping his team to a top 25 finish in the country and being named to the Men's Division I All-Tournament Team at the NIRSA National Tournament. In 1999, while living in Oslo, Norway, Schulz was a member of the Norwegian First Division team KFUM. He first coached at Mediapolis High School in 2002. Coach Schulz resides in Burlington, Iowa and works at Flint Cliffs Manufacturing. TIFFANY SKIDMORE Coach Skidmore who began coaching at Mediapolis in 1999 is in her thirteenth season with the Mediapolis middle school volleyball team. She coaches for the Bullette Volleyball Club and is a volleyball clinician. Skidmore teaches computer applications at Mediapolis and is a graduate of Buena Vista University and makes her home in Wilton. J AMIE CUSICK5th Season Coach Cusick begins her fifth season with the Mediapolis middle school volleyball team. Cusick played in two respected volleyball programs. Cusick began her playing career at Beckman High School (Dyersville, IA) where she was an all-conference and all-state middle hitter. A 2001 graduate, she led the Blazers to the championship match of the state tournament, was named to the Class 2A all-tournament team, earned 1st team all-state honors, and was selected for and played in the Iowa Volleyball Senior All-Star match in Carroll.After high school, Cusick continued her volleyball career as an outside hitter at Simpson College where she was a 4-year letter winner for the Storm. She was a team co-captain during her senior season. In addition to playing, Ms. Cusick coached for the Indianola Volleyball Club. Coach Cusick is a graduate of Simpson College and the University of Northern Iowa where she earned a Master's degree in School Counseling. ERTZ Coach Ertz played volleyball at Mediapolis
under coach Diane Shomper. She coached volleyball along side Dennis Jandrey at
Mediapolis for six years from 1989-1994. In 2004 Ertz "came out of retirement"
to coach for the Bullette Volleyball Club. |
